Limited Product Warranty Statement

1. Warranty Scope & Eligibility

Emission & Cooling Solutions, LLC (“ECS”) has been a premier provider of heavy-duty diesel aftertreatment parts and services since 2010. ECS warrants its remanufactured emission products—including Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) units, Oneboxes, and related components (collectively, the “Products”)—to be free from verifiable defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions for the applicable coverage period detailed below.

This limited warranty extends to the original purchaser of the Product and to any subsequent owner or transferee who acquires title during the applicable coverage period (each a “Product Owner”). Warranty validity is strictly conditioned upon full compliance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines, ECS installation procedures, and the Product Owner’s Manual.

3. Mandatory Claim Documentation & Submission Process

To initiate a warranty claim, the Product Owner must submit a completed Warranty Claim Form along with all mandatory diagnostic evidence. Missing or incomplete items will result in immediate claim disqualification.

  • Inlet & Outlet Photographs: Clear, high-resolution photos showing both the Product Inlet and Outlet faces.

  • ECM Diagnostic History: Full screenshots/reports from the vehicle’s ECM including DPF regeneration history, soot & ash accumulation, SCR conversion performance, and complete fault code history.

  • Operating Temperature Logs: Recorded temperature readings across the relevant aftertreatment section.

  • Physical Product Inspection: Return of the intact, unmodified failed unit to ECS Nashville for physical inspection and root-cause failure analysis.

Warranty Terms, Exclusions & Compliance Standards

4. Identification Integrity & Post-Sale Modifications

ECS will not issue warranty credit or replacement for any Product that exhibits any form of modification, tampering, badge removal, serial defacement, or covering of ECS identification markings. Any modification after sale voids this warranty in its entirety.

5. Exclusions, Wear Items & Freight Responsibilities

This warranty does not cover failures caused by accident, neglect, misuse, improper installation, improper maintenance, contamination by engine oil or coolant, transit damage, unauthorized replacement parts, component swapping, improper use of alternative fuels/additives, or upstream engine faults.

Wear Items: Components subject to routine operational wear—including gaskets, flanges, cones, clamps, hoses, and mounting hardware—are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage.

Freight Terms: Standard ground freight for approved, warrantable claims is covered by ECS. If a returned Product is determined to be ineligible upon inspection, the Product Owner is responsible for all shipping expenses. Expedited freight charges are strictly the Product Owner's responsibility in all cases.

6. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

The warranties stated herein are in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall ECS be liable for any incidental, indirect, consequential, or punitive damages—including loss of profits, downtime, substitute vehicle procurement, or commercial business disruption—arising from the use or inability to use ECS Products.

7. Federal, State & California CARB Regulations

Federal & State Emissions Laws: Federal and state statutes strictly prohibit tampering with or installing defeat devices on emissions control systems. ECS Products are engineered solely for certified, EPA-compliant applications. Installation on unapproved platforms voids this warranty and subjects the installer to statutory penalties.

California Warning (CARB): Certain ECS Products may not be certified for sale or highway use in the State of California unless accompanied by a valid Executive Order (E.O.) from the California Air Resources Board. Installing non-exempt emission components in California carries civil penalties of up to $5,000 per violation under Cal. Health & Safety Code § 43154.
